Cowskin Creek Water Reclamation Facility

Wichita, Kansas

City of Wichita

Prime Contractor

Due to the explosive growth of Northwest Wichita, the City of Wichita started exploring the need for a new wastewater treatment plant. Sensitive to the surrounding environment, it was the city's desire to reduce odor from the new plant and create a fishing lake with walking paths and native grass areas for the public and surrounding neighbors to enjoy.

The project features five building structures & six standalone structures. The buildings all feature native Kansas limestone: Administrative & Operations, Disinfection, Sludge Pump, Headworks, Electrical & Blower Building and Lift & Pump Station. The structures include two 50-foot diameter digesters, one 50-foot diameter clarifier and one aeration basin with two cells.
